Think Green
By Ron D Obed
“Think green” is not just a saying anymore it is real and will continue growing throughout the new decade. As our energy bills keep sky rocketing and our uncertain economy keeps us guessing, the one fact remains we cannot ignore our energy budgets. We must act now, and act fast. There is hope. We have choices, and going green is the right choice. The choice we all must make, what better way to start than by thinking green, right in your own home or office.
Most people still want to reap the benefits of living a modern lifestyle, where the use of consumable energy enhances and betters our lives. After all we don’t want to have to go down down to the river to wash our clothes, or run to the nearest well for our drinking water.
To be classified as “Thinking Green” should mean a willingness to take measures into our own hands. We most continue to do our part to stay below what the average consumer uses for energy consumption.
Making use of currently available and soon to be discovered technologies provides alternatives for the everyday consumer. Does having a green home or office really matter to the environment?
The answer is yes. More then a million single family homes are built in the United States each year. Over the last 30 years the square footage of these homes has gotten larger. Not only does building a green home help reduce the materials and energy consumed in the construction of the home but it also helps the utility companies from having to generate more supplies, which ultimately means costly utility bills.
It simply makes good economic sense to get a little cleaner and a little greener. Saving is good. What “thinking green” energy conservation movement is about is eliminating waste, maximizing efficiency and transitioning to a different style of energy awareness.
While we are starting to see the early effects of saving energy in this decade, we believe that in the next decade we will see a huge spike in going green.
We will start to see more use of Hybrid Cars . More solar type devices popping up everywhere because of a reduction in the price of photovoltaic cells that make up our solar power lives. Major utilities are starting to bring solar plants in to offset the use of having to use fossil fuels. In Texas they are starting to see huge wind turbines being utilized. While this is just a start, it is the beginning of the new “Thinking Green” movement.
We at “Think Green Energy Saver.com” believe that there should be more energy savings products being offered by our major utility companies. They all state how much they spend on research and development yet we continue to see our cost for utilizing them going up. Can they offer a reduction in their pricing for things like being below the average consumer with the same type of home and square footage? Or for not burning as much energy in their peak hour grid charts? If you have any good suggestions we would like the opportunity to write to your local utility company for any and all considerations.
While we all can make a difference in helping out our environment it has to start sooner then later. Please do your part to help conserve and Think Green. Thanks for your help.
Keep “Thinking Green” my friends.
